Dr. Marcia Goldberg
Dr. Goldberg is a graduate of this fellowship program, has been an Attending in Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital since 1999. She serves as the Director of Research Program Development in the Department of Medicine and the Director of Research in the Division of Infectious Diseases. In this capacity, she oversees career development of infectious disease fellows during their research years. Her research program focuses on the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogen interactions with mammalian host cells, rapid diagnostics for infectious diseases, the discovery of new classes of antimicrobial compounds, and the mechanisms of protein localization in prokaryotes. She is Program Director of the NIH training grant (T32) on Infectious Diseases and Basic Microbiological Mechanisms, which supports many of the trainees in our infectious disease fellowship.
